Me & The Victory concert

I have nothing to do right now…well nothing I WANT to do so I’m going to give my review of the victory concert:

Me and my friends had decided not to go see BOA that night because we didn’t want to miss anything at the victory concert. We ended up going shopping in Koreatown and I spent way to much money on Boys over flowers merchandise. I also managed to buy a couple C.D’s and some posters.

(BTW we were asked about six times if we were in the right place by security and the hired staff directing people if we were in the right place before we even got to our seats lol)

We were late to the concert due to shopping too long, but that didn’t really matter because the game was being played and the concert wouldn’t start for about an hour later (I don’t know if it was an hour, it could have been half but it felt like an hour). I was a little pissed because I could have just seen BOA instead of sitting through the game, but I was glad that people who decided to do both wouldn’t be missing anything. Now I don’t know if that was Powerhouse’s thought as well or maybe they didn’t want people coming in late when the singers were performing or maybe the concert just was not ready (FTTS concert in SF put on by the same man started really late as well) or maybe they really did just want to enjoy the game. Well for one thing the crowd loved it, dang I think most of the people liked it more then the concert. (I don’t know why but at the Korean concerts in L.A that I’ve been too most of the people are rude as hell and get up and walk around or just sit there with their arms crossed, but then you also have the drunk as hell ones that have a great time…no drunks at this one though) Any ways what was I saying?…… Oh thats right! I think they played the game so long to get everybody pumped then when they were finally done playing the game…. one lone dude comes out on to the stage in the darkness and I’m thinking wow this is going to be a cheep concert if they only have one dancer. Then my sisters voice is ringing through my ears “Is that poppin? OMG is that poppin! I’m going to cry is that poppin?!” as shes saying it a little light goes across his face I see a little rat like face and I’m like “Yes it’s poppin!”. Just then the screen starts displaying the artist that are going to perform and Poppin Hyun Joon’s name comes across the screen, me and my sister scream like total freaks and she could have been crying a little but I cant remember. So to get the crowd pumped poppin danced a little and it was freaking awesome I’m telling you freaking awesome. I managed to get my camera out in my excitement and take one picture

after that I put the camera back in the bag because it just wasn’t worth taking pictures and missing the show. Poppin left the stage and the MC’s came out I was pissed I was like “thats all poppin gets!” I know he was a surprise guest and I should have been grateful for what I got but I wasn’t.

Alex (Clazziquai) was one of the MC’s and I’m telling you right now I never wanted to marry that man (sure I would say he was my man but thats as far as the love went) but after that night I have to find a way to marry him. He was so sweet, hot, had a killer outfit and did a great job as one of the MC’s. Totally kept the crowed entertained and was super funny. Park Jung Ah (Jewelry) the other MC was so pretty, funny, had a nice outfit and cute hair!. I read somewhere that someone said she didn’t do a good job(?!) well then they were hella jealous because I don’t even like the lady (don’t hate her ether) and I thought she did a freaking good job really played off Alex well. Good job powerhouse for picking the two.

I cant really remember the line up but I think it went something like this

MC – introduction

poppin – one song

After the MC’s were done talking poppin came out again and performed his hit song “Don’t stop” I loved it and eat up every bit of it. Just like at the start of the show when he was pumping the crowd up he played a lot with the crowd, looked down at me and my friends a ton of times, it was great. BUT that was it thats all he got, now my sister owns that boys album and there are a ton of songs he could have sang that are really great, so I was pretty sad thats all we got.

Clazziquai – three songs

Again I’m going to marry Alex. That mans voice is as good or even better live! Hit his notes every time and never hurt my ears. Horan Choi was so pretty and she did great, her voice is awesome. My only problem with them is that they didn’t sing my favorite song “lover boy” I was so sad! Oh and I was hoping for “Robotica” but nope none of that.

Baek Ji young -three songs

Looked really old and sick, a lot like a forty year old hooker with the animal print (wait isn’t she?). Now I shouldn’t be so rude I think she said that she was sick or at least thats what I got from it because when she came out she had to stop lip singing to tell us she was sick and if that was alright and if we would forgive her(?) (or something like that…I don’t know, I cant understand Korean, all I know for sure was that the old Korean dudes all screamed Na/yes to whatever she said) after that was over they restarted the song and she did her little thing looking like a straight up Kmart hooker.

Wheesung – three songs

I love this man, really I do. I love what he can do with his voice the way it quivers and I was totally loving insomnia but his pants were way to small yes people black leather/pleather pants that hugged his junk like there was no tomorrow. When your right there and its in your face you wish you could kill yourself! Luckily this one persons head floated in the right place so I didn’t have to see his tightly hugged junk too often. Now this boy hurt me the same way Clazziquai did he didn’t sing my favorite song which is “love is tasty” and this is my favorite song because I didn’t really know Wheesung before this song and I wasn’t going to give him a chance but then when I heard his lovely quivering voice I fell in love. So I was really looking forward to that song, but oh well hopefully I can see him sing it live one day (Powerhouse *hint *hint). He, like Alex, showed me what real talent was Wheesung sang beautifully. Also I’ve always kinda thought of him as my ugly love but that man is freaking pretty! I know, I know right Wheesung? But yes people he is so pretty. OH MY GOD I almost forgot to include that Wheesung has the “WHITE DISEASE” if you don’t know what that is let me tell you, it is when a kpop star cant look at white people in the crowd of a kpop concert or has to try very hard to not look away and yes Wheesung has it! Now don’t cry girls it can be cured with a lot of exposure to whities in the crowd. Once they see it enough they will be cured (I hope) anyways every time Wheesung came over to me or my friends he would quickly look away or look directly past us. I was a little hurt but having been through the se7en thing I was more understanding and I will just have to wait until he is cured.

Tae Jin ah – three songs

This man never fails to deliver! He rocks the house with his skinny trot ass and I had a ton of fun because of it. He definitely does not have the WHITE DISEASE because he gave everybody a ton of love even giving me a wink and a point/gun thing with his free hand and I gave it right back I think he was surprised because he almost laughed. Every time I see him perform I’m afraid that old ladies are going to start throwing panties or something and that a few might faint, all in all it was entertaining.

Lee Eun mi – three songs

I saw this woman at the Hollywood bowl back in 2007 and I thought she rocked, so I was looking froward to her and she did do a good job but she just seemed out of it and a little crazy (not in a good way). Also her old woman wearing a diaper outfit was so ugly and distracting I wish she had worn something different. Voice does rock though……

Jewelry – three songs

These four whores, what can I say I loved it! Even though I cant figure out what language that rapper is rapping and the other new one cant really sing and Jung Ah was wearing poop pants and the little one with the short hair was about to pop out of her tiny booty shorts they were very entertaining, no lie. Plus they kinda poked fun during one of the performances at their sexy image and that was very cute.

SS501 sub group – two songs plus a ss501 song melody

What can I say these are my boys. They were very cute and during Jewelry’s performance when the boys were waiting to go on my sister spotted them at the side of the stage and pointed them out to me and as I was pointing them out to my friend Hyung Joon(the youngest) saw me and backed up into the darkness that was so freaking cute! When they came out they were so cute and the crowd loved it. Now when Hyun Joong(boys over flowers) isn’t around then Kyu Jong is my man and when he came out on to the stage I was shocked at how much surgery he has had. I mean you could really see it on his face like someone had…. done plastic surgery.  I got over that quickly and really enjoyed the performance. At one point Kyu Jong was holding peoples hands and my sister was pulling our younger friends (14 years old) hand out to him because she couldn’t really reach and as he was pulling away my sister was pointing at her. He was so cute, he nodded to my sister and then grabbed the 14 year olds hand, he smiled straight at her, it was so cute. (anybody have a fan cam of that please post it here, she was wearing a orange jacket) She rubbed that in my face so bad. So everyday before the concert I was thinking about how awesome it was going to be to see them sing “The one” live and yep thats right they didn’t sing it! So that makes out of the 3 songs I really wanted to see I got to see none lol.

Kim Gun mo – three songs

Didn’t know who this guy was and I didn’t take the time to look him up before I went, but dang was he entertaining. I understand why powerhouse put him last, just really put on a show plus that way they could get the other stars out of the venue.  Any ways he was awesome and had this HOT HOT dancer! Seriously I couldn’t take my eyes off him, he was the skinny one with the glasses on for the song “kiss” he had short hair and I think kept mostly on Kim Gun mo’s right side/our left…. really really  hot. Here is the video for the song “kiss” but I dont think the dude I love is in it but I dont know.

MC – goodbye (yeah there was more MC stuff but don’t ask me where it was placed in the line up)

awesome… everybody was dancing and it was a lot of fun.

The things that I enjoyed about this concert was that the MC’s were not afraid to stray from the cue cards it made it more personable. Also I like how fairly the time was divide between the artist. I’m used to the Hollywood bowl where one group/singer can have up to four songs and another only two, again I really enjoyed the use of time. One of the things I disliked was that the concert was so short and I think there should have been a group song with mutable artist and or some more star to fan interaction, we don’t get to see Kpop stars that often so please make it count.

It was a really great concert thanks Powerhouse I cant wait for the next one.

We have one MC (Son Ho Young) as it stands but one of the little girls from Girls’ Generation will probably MC as well..Oh isn’t that going to be fun.

As I was saying its a piece of Sh*t Korea times didn’t even try this year but hey why do they need to they already have the money.

SS501 is the big act for the evening but I don’t think that was planed until the victory concert presented by powerhouse reviled the artist list they were able to get. So Korea times decided to slap them in the face buy getting 3 of the victory concert artist to come to the Hollywood bowl, kind of a there’s no need to go to any more powerhouse concerts because we (Korea times) can always get the same performers to come to the Hollywood bowl.

Dear Korea times,

All I can say is F**k You for not trying this year, every year you present a concert for the hole family mixed with A & B list singers, trot/rock older generation singers and mutable top notch Idol groups. This year you failed horribly by putting together at the last minute a concert of C list singers/groups. You cant count SM groups as working hard to get good acts because they are “freely given” to you each year by SM. You also cant count the 3 acts you managed to get from the victory concert because that was you guys throwing a tantrum. So that leaves us with the rest of the list which is very poor for what you guys are charging its more like a list that you just happen to come across at a Korean street fare and the music is FREE. I’m asking that you somehow try to fix this mess and add at least 2 more idols or at even A & B list singers.
